Basic skincare guide
- Retinoid creams: synthetic and natural analogs of Vitamin A that stimulate skin cell activity and collagen production. Adapalene is preferred due to less irritation compared to Tretinoin.
- Niacinamide (topical Vitamin B3): proven to reduce wrinkles, hyperpigmented spots, red blotchiness, and skin yellowing, niacinamide is well-tolerated and effective in improving overall skin appearance.
- Exfoliants: lactic and glycolic acids help regenerate collagen and elastin, reducing wrinkles.
- Genistein topicals: applied to skin, genistein exhibits anti-aging effects, including reducing the visible appearance of wrinkles and helping protect skin from the effects of sun damage.
(List of products with genistein: link) Supplements: + vitamin B3 have strong evidence of benefits for skin health.
- Cosmetic procedures: injections, laser, chemical peels and etc.
- Sunscreen: essential for preventing and reversing skin aging. When choosing one look for 50spf and PA++++. The one I recommend is "La Roche Posay Shaka Fluid", as it offeres the highest level of protection at the moment.
- Diet: Mediterranean-style diet rich in plant-based foods, lean proteins, and healthy fats is associated with good skin health.
- Exercise: resistance training and aerobic exercises help maintain skin elasticity and thickness.
- Moisturizers: not a fan of moisturizers, but if you need it, use the one with ceramides.
- The most important one of those is sunscreen, Mediterranean diet is mentioned as superior but I’d guess it’s all about CR (calorie deficit) and low insulin/low carb.
- As for stress management, I’d better to a complete stress management guide on that matter in future.
